I have this error code on the machine, but let me tell you what's been done:
- I replaced the HDD with one that came from a known working machine.
- I didn't go into service mode to format it but went through Admin mode.
- I installed firmware with the latest firmware that came out on 1.2.24
- I figured since it took the firmware and the movie data just fine, I wouldn't have any issues, but it's still displaying this code, as well as giving me the error that it will reboot soon to
correct the error.
- I never performed logical and physical format, but I didn't think I had to because admin mode allowed me to format it.
- This code is constantly popping up, allowing my customer to temporarily print for a short period until it throws the code again.
- The bulletins are also pointing toward the MFP, which is not easy to get, but asking for any advice before I go that route.
- I then changed the softswitch settings in softswitch 25 to B0, but still no luck.
- Should I try a brand-new HDD?
Had this many times. Sometimes the copier doesn't accept working used HDD. What I tend to do when replacing an HDD is after replacement boot into trouble reset and go into the service menu. Then do a logical format. In your case, you may have to get a brand-new one. (Not amazon "new") as they are all refurbs.
Is it possible that "crap data" from network can cause this code? I usually think of C-E301 when it's print data related but who knows.
If that's not the case I'd gibe it another another shot with HDD + SATA cable, perhaps the "working" HDD from the donator was too old (HDDs are getting slower with more operation hours on the clock, espacially the access times performance is can be pretty bad) plus the old bugger might not liked the handling/transport.
I usually buy cheap refurb HDDs - I know it's not optimal but usually I need these HDDs to fix rentals that are more or leass due to replace in the next 6-24 months.

Measure the battery voltage. If the voltage is below 3.0 volts, then you will need to replace the battery (CR2032, if I'm not mistaken) and reinstall the latest firmware. It helped me on all devices of the bizhub C224E line. A very large part of Konica devices suffer from this problem.

After a few more troubleshooting methods, I had a gentleman quite knowledgeable with Konica Minoltas go on to say the everything was pointing to the eMMC board (this small board sits in the lower left hand corner or the MFP board),
however has to be ordered by a service manager and hard to get on your own. The "good part" is that he said it could be used, but there are steps to replace it. Do any of you know anything about this board?

If you are replacing HDD put a solid state drive in . I've ordered them from Amazon and have put several in. here is link to the SSD I ordered, they used to be $22.00 but have increased to $43.00 but still cheaper than what KM wants for their HDD. the main thing is make sure your SSD is 320gb or higher the one I installed is 500gb.
eMMC failure happened to us too, just once, but also on a C458 (C-FA14)
Its just a backup memory board with Serials, Meters and licences etc.
In our case we got a brand new eMMC.
Procedure was to Boot by Firmware, then set Machine Type first, then continue with Firmware reloading.
When you reboot after, you will eventually get the Recover data option on screen.
That should be it.
If you're on a new HDD you will need Movie and other Data files to reload though...
1. Check the battery for 3.2V voltage. 2. Dismantle the old HDD 3. If you do not need to make a backup, then skip this step.
Connect the old HDD to the PC and make a clone to the new HDD.
(This must be done if you want to save old information. Make ONLY a sector-by-sector backup) 5. Install a new HDD 6. Install the latest firmware. [FW ver. GCD-Y1] Function Version4.2 Periodic ROM14 (Release Date: 2022-01-28)

Thanks for this advice. I just bought a brand new 500 GB SSD today. I will try it tomorrow. You know once you install the drive, it mayu ask you to format it through Administrator mode, which doesn't take very long at all. Would you recommend doing the logical and physical format in the actual service mode?
