These finishers usually run well, but the customer decided to help.
It started out as an error code E00531-8002. Stapler not moving from home position. It sounds to me that the stapler itself is not
moving. The stapler unit does move back and forth no problem.
Customer decided to replace the staple cartridge even tho it did not ask for staples. Now with staples loaded it does not actuate
the stapler to begin the feed of the staples. The message won't clear.
Question, how reliable are these staplers? The counter sez a little over 46,000 staples have been made. Also I have not seen the part
number for the whole stapler assembly in the parts book.
What is the part number or where can I find it?
I was also having trouble finding the I/O ports to check to see if it sees the staples or check the Home sensor.
I will have to go out on this again tomorrow and would like to be able to fix it or at least know what to order.
Good to check they haven't fitted stapler cartridge from G1 floor standing finisher it's begger it should be fe3 7563 d1 inner finisher looks the same but not as high the green part is smaller the refill is the same

mga,
Thank you for the rapid reply. However the cartridge is the correct cartridge, it has been in that machine for a couple of years.
I did find the stapler part number, FM4-2710, in the service manual under "Periodic service works".
The pieces are beginning to add up.
Still I would like to find the I/O on that stapler. Still looking.

The stapler cartridges are usually good...if...the customer properly replaces the staples at the proper time. I have run into customers trying to replace them early which usually causes problems. Either they dont poperly put the refill in with the small cardboard holder inside correctly, or they take the whole thing apart and lose a little black lever that is in the bottom of the staple cartridge. Just those two situations will cause it to not feed staples. You may not need to replace the whole unit. Just swapping the cartridge will probably fix the issue.
I seem to recall a problem like that with that lever. But the motor does not drive the upper plate. The motor does not run at all.
I can manually get the cartridge to feed the staples. Usually when the staples are replaced in the cartridge the motor drives to
feed the staples to the contacts that tell the machine it has staples. This is not happening. The code it gave before the customer
changed the cartridge was E00531-8002. Stapler Home position error. I just get an extra cartridge just so it is easier for the customer.
I replaced the stapler assembly and now the motor on the stapler drives the upper plate and feeds a couple of staples.
So here's what going on, turn the machine on and it drives the stapler to the back and actuates the upper plate as stated.
But it ask for the paper path to be cleared. There's no paper but I open the door and the paper path and close it up and
get An E56f-002 code and I still get the E531-8002 code.
I must have not connected something. The gripper assembly is not moving.
E56F 0002 Entrance Roller Release/Stopper HP Motor fails to return to HP
Description
At initial rotation, when the Motor rotates for specified period
of time and cannot return to HP, it is detected as an error if the
same symptom occurs again after the first retry.
Remedy
1. Check if the Motor (M6) Connector is physically removed.
2. Replace the Motor.
3. Check if the Entrance Roller Release/Stopper HP Sensor
(S5) Connector is physically removed.
4. Replace the Entrance Roller Release/Stopper HP Sensor S5
I talked with someone local that usually has an answer but he said it kicked his butt too.
So tomorrow (Saturday) I will have to go back and retrace my steps. I recall I had a loose connector that I could not find
the other end of. It's a four pin connector like the ones for motors. Probably is for that motor M6.
Also I'm kinda in the dark about the E531 code. Does it refer the stapler or the stapler assembly home position?
So, Here I am. I've taken the finisher out twice now looking for my mistakes.
1 I found was the connector for the feed motor was disconnected. It plugs into the control bd CN4.
The second error was with CN49 for M6 and S5, directly linked to the E56f-0002 code. I had bent
pin 15 for the sensor. Straighten that out and install the finisher.
Power up and it sez clear paper path code 1C6F, S5. Damn it!
I did loosen that M6 motor enough to check for bind but none were found.
I have checked the CN49-15, output for S5 it read 3.4vdc. I was sure I left that
sensor so the lite could shine through. That should give me a low.
I will have to pull the finisher to check the position and test the motor wires.
I took the finisher out to put the stapler belt back on the front pulley.
In order to remove the top part I had to disconnect some connectors from the board.
That's when I missed connecting M3 to CN4. After straightening the pin in CN49 I still
got that E56f code. I found inside the connector a small piece of plastic about 2mm long.
Look like the end of a flat toothpick. Removed that and the connector seated properly.
The code E56f went away and now I am back to the original code, E531-8002 that the customer
reported.
After all of this I knock the belt off again. But I found away to put it back on the front without
pulling the finisher.
So the finisher staples fine in the upper right corner but not the upper left. It does not do the booklet
staple either. When it goes to the back that's when the error code occurs. I can see the stapler actuate
twice before it codes out. I am suspecting the flat cable that ride to the right side of the stapler.

I think you are on the right track. Those flat ribbon cables will cause error codes. I found a knowledge base on your code.
Copylady72,
Thank you for that note from the knowledge base. It's just what I wanted to hear.
I will order the flex cable today.
I will let you know how it turns out.
Copier lady,
Thanks again for the tech letter, the flex cable fixed the problem. The stapler itself was also bad as it did not run the motor at all
and the new stapler ran but still gave the code.
The cable was only about 5 bucks.

You are welcome. Glad you found the solution. Even better when the part is cheap. [emoji1303]
A favorite resort of the foreign residents of Yokohama during the summer months is the island of Enoshima. It is about twenty miles away, and is a noted place of pilgrimage for the Japanese, on account of certain shrines that are reputed to have a sacred character. Doctor Bronson arranged that his party should pay a visit to this island, as it was an interesting spot, and they could have a glimpse of Japanese life in the rural districts, and among the fishermen of the coast. "But as we are in for it," he continued, "we must make the best of the situation, and hope to go through in safety. Many a strong ship lies at the bottom of the sea, where she was sent by just such a storm as we are about to pass through, and many another has barely escaped. I was once on a ship in the China seas, when the captain told the passengers that it would be a miracle if we remained half an hour longer afloat. But hardly had he done speaking when the wind fell, the storm abated, and we were safe. The typhoon is to these waters what the hurricane is to the West Indies; it is liable to blow at any time between April and September, and is often fearfully destructive. OPIUM-PIPE. OPIUM-PIPE. "Surely your ladyship knows Dr. Bruce!" Hetty said with a vivid splash of colour on either cheek "A little time ago I understood that Dr. Bruce----" "I require that everywhere a strict investigation shall take place into the conduct of the soldiers with regard to the life and property of the civilian population. "Where were they buried?" They all pressed forward. "Count out. That's the only fair way," shouted the boys in the center. "Now, there's three loaves o' bread for the Sargint," said Harry, laying them down on a newspaper. "There's three for the Corpril; there's three for me; there's three for you." "'T?un't peas, thick 'un," Vennal would break in uproariously, "it's turnips—each of 'em got a root like my fist." At this moment of perplexity, some medicine, that she had obtained from Edith, occurred to her, and, with a feeling of confidence, and almost of extacy, she took a phial from a shelf in a cupboard where she had placed it, and, pouring out the contents in a large spoon, hesitated an instant ere she administered it. "Let me see," said she; "surely it was a large spoonful Edith told me to give—yet all that was in the phial doesn't fill the spoon. Surely I can't be wrong: no—I remember she said a large spoonful, and we didn't talk of any thing else—so I must be right." But Mary still hesitated, till, hearing a sudden noise in the court-yard, which, she conjectured, was her mistress returned, and as the child was getting worse every moment, she leaned back its head, and, forcing open its mouth, compelled the patient, though with difficulty, to swallow its death. The draught was taken; the rigid muscles relaxed, and for a minute the child lay motionless in her lap; but in an instant after, Mary could scarcely suppress a shriek at the horrid sight that met her gaze. The eyes opened, and glared, and seemed as if starting from the head—the fair face and the red lips, were blue, deepening and deepening, till settling in blackness—the limbs contracted—the mouth opened, and displayed a tongue discoloured and swollen—then came a writhing and heaving of the body, and a low, agonized moan: and, as Mary looked almost frantic at this dreadful sight, Edith's words, when she had given her the phial, "that there was enough there to kill," suddenly occurred to her—and then, too, came, with a dreadful distinctness, the remembrance of the true directions which Edith had given. It was nearly noon the next day, when the under-sheriff entered the room to ask if their opinions were yet unanimous. The galleyman still refused. "That for ye, coward," said Tyler, striking him with the flat side of his bared weapon. Oakley aimed another thrust which was again turned aside, and the smith, now flinging down his sword, seized upon his right hand and wrenched the dagger from its grasp. After a short struggle, Oakley fell heavily on the pavement with the blood streaming from his mouth and nostrils. HoME萝拉泷泽第4部资源
